My Reward Board is an alternative to written lists of chores and goals "Make your bed" "Brush your teeth" "Do your homework before TV" etc. this software program provides a fun way to motivate children to do their tasks and chores by emphasizing a positive approach for encouraging kids to complete their chores, achieve their goals, improve their behavior, and save their money.

As one user Mom , Charity Koenig said of The Reward Board's use in her household:
"Since my kids love playing games on the computer, this is the perfect alternative to a boring chart on the wall that they're not motivated to fill out-they just love tracking their achievements on the computer! It takes the place of me having to always remind them-they're motivated to check their progress on their own"

Available as a free trial or for purchase, once MRB is part of your child's computer lifestyle ("91% of kids are using computers. The best way to motivate them is with a tool that they know and enjoy.")quotes founder Barton Listick, creator of the popular JumpStart series of children's educational software and brain daddy of this new technology.

Soon your home can have kids marking off their own work using a cast of engaging happy face characters. Parents can configure the program to conform to their own parenting style, controlling how frequently rewards are earned and which rewards are available. What seems even more intuitive is moving this virtual world(where animated piggy banks squeal in delight when allowance is earned or a savings goal has been met) into the home, as achievement certificates-suitable for framing, or at least hanging on the frig-are printed out at the end of each week.

Mom's doing well. Dad's in awe. Baby Born on a cusp

Actress Connie Nielsen ("Gladiator""Brothers" "The Situation"), and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich welcomed their first child, a boy in San Francisco Monday.
Bryce Thadeus Ulrich-Nielsen's arrival was announced on Metallica's Web site. "Mother's doing well, dad's in awe, and brothers Layne, Myles, and Sebastian are psyched!"

Born on a cusp, his Sun is in Taurus and his Moon is in Cancer if he's born in the first minutes of the day, if he arrived near the last minutes of the day, his Sun is in Gemini and his moon is in Leo.

So he's a total cusp kid. On the cusp with his sun-sign, and also the moon changes that day. We'll be watching and now listening to Celebrity Baby Blog for additional birth details.

Read this story about Mark Bent in today's Sunday New York Times.

"The BoGo Light
The BoGo Light is a scientific, eco-friendly breakthrough that is making an impact worldwide. From Cairo to Cape Town, from the Caribbean to the Amazon, it is improving the lives of individuals, families, and entire villages by replacing costly kerosene, candles, and disposable battery flashlights with an affordable, long lasting, solar flashlight.

BoGo means Buy one, Give one. We want our lights to benefit the less fortunate; therefore, with each light purchased in the developed world, a second identical light will be donated to an organization that will distribute it in the developing world with our direct financial support. Give the Gift of Light, and Help Us Change the World!

New Birth Data for Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
Father daughter photo from imagevenue.com
We are going with the new information posted on Astro-Data Bank. Lois Rodden's legacy site for astrologers to share and update birth data.

"The actress delivered a baby daughter in Africa on May 27 or 28,2006—the baby's famous father is Brad Pitt. The couple named their child Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

Confusion over the date probably stems from where and from which time zones the news reports were filed, and we believe that the child was born on the 28th at about 1:40 AM CET in Namibia. For the record, here's a quick recap of some of the stories filed: CBS News said that the baby was born in Namibia in the evening of the 27th saying that Pitt's publicist "announced the birth Saturday night." The report went on to say "Samuel Nuuyoma, the governor of the Namibian region of Erongo, confirmed the birth at the Welwitschia Clinic in Walvis Bay."

BBC News carried the same information. People magazine also gave "Saturday night" in a story filed on May 27, 2006 at 9:25 PM EST (2:25 AM on the 28th CET/Namibia time) but gave the place as the Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund. The Washington Post reported May 27 as the birth date in a story filed from Los Angeles. However, the German publication Bild reported May 28 at 1:40 AM and a news report found on
ninemsn.com.au gave the same date and time "near Swakopmund, some 400km from Windhoek." Thanks to Sarah Van Sanden, Sy Scholfield and Shelley Ackerman who sent in news clippings of this birth. "

Little Miss Sunshine and Lutin both deserve Oscars.

Sunshines, The Astrology of Being Happy.

Written by Michael Lutin, the hilarious, hip astrologer who many know from his monthly column in Vanity Fair has spent over twenty years writing the book based upon one's true north (the north node of the moon) and going south (the south node of the moon). Our Kiddiegram report includes information on your child's true north. Every parent should know about their south node and how they go south before they raise kids!

"Sunshines: The Astrology of Being Happy focuses on one of the least understood and most difficult parts of the horoscope to interpret: the Moon's North and South Nodes. If you don't know a node from a nadir, fear not: Lutin's trademark to-the-point-down-to-earth-in-plain-English style of presenting astrology is as crisp and sharp as ever. " R.K. Alexander (Seattle) on Amazon

"He talks about identifying your "true North" and what drags you into "going South" with your life... the hidden things that you think that nobody knows about, and nobody--including you, usually--really understands. " Aisling D'Art (Houston) on Amazon.

A very witty explanation of what your kids are doing on Webkinz and Club Penquin! From the New York Times On-Line Shopper , Michelle Slatalla, one of Mlle Kiddie's favorite writers.

My Daughter The Burger Flipping Penquin thanks to the New York Times for this perma-link!

'As online sites aimed at capturing the attention of the pre-MySpace set proliferate, children ages 8 to 12 seem to be effortlessly making the leap from the real world to the virtual.'

"My 9-year-old daughter, Clementine, is working in the food service industry these days.
As soon as school lets out, she ties on an apron and starts flipping burgers. She must be pretty good at it, too, because the other day she earned $50 just for slapping a few pieces of lettuce onto buns. “Shouldn’t you be wearing a hairnet?” my husband asked her.
Clementine barely glanced up from the computer, where she sat clicking away to “assemble” fast-food orders — virtual meat patties, tomato and bun — as quickly as possible to earn more “cash.” “Dad, pretend I’m not here,” she said. “I can’t talk right now or I won’t make enough to buy a scooter.”
